What the desk publishes
The desk publishes winners under three conditions: the operator publicly shares the name, the contest ID matches the operator's results page, and the prize band is verifiable (for example, "₹1,000–5,000" rather than "lakhs won").
Each published entry includes a contest ID, a contest type (small league, large field, mega) and the published date. This lets readers verify the entry themselves rather than taking the desk's word for it.
The desk does not publish winners who have not been publicly named by the operator. If a winner prefers privacy, the desk respects that even where the operator has shared the name.
What the desk excludes
Four classes of winners list the desk excludes:
1. Marketing-only "lakhs won" claims without contest IDs or verifiable prize bands.
2. Aggregated lists that compress multiple contests into a single number — for example, "₹2.4 crore won last month" without a per-contest breakdown.
3. Lists that mix paid contests with free practice contests. Practice winners are not real-money outcomes.
4. Lists published by third-party sites that have not been confirmed against the operator's own results page.
The curation method
The desk's curation method is published in detail on the methodology page. In summary: each entry is cross-checked against the operator's results page, and any entry that fails the cross-check is removed from the dossier.
The dossier is updated when the operator publishes verifiable names, contest IDs and prize bands. Marketing-only lists are excluded by default.
The dossier's small size is intentional. The desk would rather publish a short, verifiable list than a long, unverifiable one.
How to cross-check a winners claim
Three steps to cross-check a winners claim you see elsewhere:
1. Find the contest ID. Real winners lists include a contest ID that maps to a specific match and entry window.
2. Open the operator's results page and look up the contest ID. The full standings and prize breakdown should match.
3. Verify the prize band. "₹1,000–5,000" is verifiable; "lakhs won" is not.
